Dame Shirley Bassey’s new album to include a track written by James and Nicky

Dame Shirley Bassey, Britain’s most successful female artist ever, is set to release her brand new album ‘The Performance’ on November 9th on Geffen Records, produced by David Arnold and featuring songs written specifically for her, including a track by James (music) and Nicky (lyrics), entitled ‘The Girl From Tiger Bay’.

Here is what James had to say about it: “Back in the Seventies, when we were growing up in the valleys we would hear the beautiful sound of Dame Shirley Bassey singing, “Days of Wine and Roses” set against the backdrop of our fathers fantastical stories about Tiger Bay, so in 2009 to hear what Dame Shirley Bassey and David Arnold have created with our song makes us very proud ”  James Dean Bradfield
